Each Fall we hold our Annual "Free Market" on Bethel Island. This event provides an opportunity for our clients to receive household supplies and new or gently used household items as well as clothing and shoes all free! There are many opportunities to help: donate items, prepare items, help setup, and help delivery and clean up. It's an event everyone enjoys! VOLUNTEER TO HELP!
* Friday, Nov. 1 at 9:00am, meet at Byron Methodist Church to help load free market items into the box truck.
* Friday, Nov. 1, starting 9:00am and going until about 1:00pm. Free Market Set up at New Covenant church (our Bethel Island location). We will be preparing and sorting donations in preparation for the Saturday Free Market.
WE NEED YOU! Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10:00 to 4:00pm. Free Market Day! Help with setup in the morning and distribution that goes from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Bring a sack lunch. This is an exciting day where we get to give needed items to our clients and see lots of smiles! Bring your own donations of household items and clothing!
Donations Needed
Clothes (adult, new): Sweatshirts, T-shirts, gloves, knit hats, socks (men's & women's), rain ponchos
Toiletries & Sundries: toilet paper, tooth brushes, tooth paste, soap, shampoo, dental floss, deodorant, chapstick, lotion, brushes, combs, nail clippers, safety pins, first aid items, tissue, small bottles of ibuprofen
Miscellaneous: Bibles, blankets, towels, wash clothes, sleeping bags, tarps, detergent, dish soap, duct tape, hot plates, dog & cat food, batteries (all sizes).
